Paya / Nahari

Ingredients (Serves 4 people)

Onions2 big ones
Coriander leavesa handful
Turmeric powder½ tsp
Chillie powder2 tsp
Coriander powder2 tsp
Ginger Garlic paste2tbsp
Tomatoes7-8
Tamarind paste½ bowl
Paya (Mutton legs)4
Salt to taste
Garam masala powder ½ tsp

Method

Take oil in a vessel. Add 1 onion. Fry till golden brown then add ginger garlic paste. then add paya to it. Fry for some time. Then cook for 7 whistles with water enough for it to be cooked.
Meanwhile, grind 1 onion, coriander leaves and tomatoes. Once the paya is cooked, open the lid and pour the grinded mixture into it. Then add turmeric powder, chillie powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and tamarind paste to it. Add salt to taste. Close the lid and cook for another 5 whistles or so.

Yummy paya is ready to be served with hot rotis or bread or dosas.



Snack time!! - Crepes / Pan cakes

Ingredients (Makes 8 crepes and 4 pancakes)

Wheat Flour1 cup
Milk½ cup
Water ½ cup
Salta pinch
Eggs2
Butter2tbsp

Method

Melt butter in a microwave oven or on stove. Blend together all the above ingredients in a vessel. Take a pan and add spread some butter in it.

To make crepes, pour small amounts of the mixture into the vessel and move the vessel in clockwise direction to spread it in the pan. Turn it and cook like how you would make chapatis adding butter when required.

To make pan cakes pour the mixture ins mall amounts to make thicker smaller circles and cook like chapatis

Serve with tomato sauce, honey or jam and see your kids gorge on these. ;)
