Ingredients (Serves 4 people)
Onions | 2 big ones |
Coriander leaves | a handful |
Turmeric powder | ½ tsp |
Chillie powder | 2 tsp |
Coriander powder | 2 tsp |
Ginger Garlic paste | 2tbsp |
Tomatoes | 7-8 |
Tamarind paste | ½ bowl |
Paya (Mutton legs) | 4 |
Salt | to taste |
Garam masala powder | ½ tsp |
Method
Take oil in a vessel. Add 1 onion. Fry till golden brown then add ginger garlic paste. then add paya to it. Fry for some time. Then cook for 7 whistles with water enough for it to be cooked.
Meanwhile, grind 1 onion, coriander leaves and tomatoes. Once the paya is cooked, open the lid and pour the grinded mixture into it. Then add turmeric powder, chillie powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and tamarind paste to it. Add salt to taste. Close the lid and cook for another 5 whistles or so.
Yummy paya is ready to be served with hot rotis or bread or dosas.
